Hunter Brown faced eight hitters in the first and recorded two outs, giving up five hits and four runs before the inning ended on a throw to first. Chase Meidroth's three-run homer in the sixth — the first of his postseason — turned a nervy 4-3 game into something Houston could not reach. Jordan Hicks and Erick Fedde covered the last four innings for Chicago and allowed no hits between them. Jose Altuve and Cam Smith both went yard for Houston and it moved the score by one each time.
