Jack Flaherty walked six hitters in three and a third innings and somehow left with only two runs, both unearned, on the board. Detroit took the lead in the sixth and gave it right back in the seventh when Ceddanne Rafaela lined a two-run single to right, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa did the same thing an inning later. Tyler Holton faced eight hitters and recorded two outs — four hits, three earned, two walks, 26 pitches. Boston left twelve on base and scored eight. Detroit left eight and scored six.
