Jonathan Aranda's two-run single in the fifth on a 75.4 mph curveball was the hit that put Tampa Bay ahead for good, scoring Taylor Walls and Chandler Simpson. Landen Roupp needed 88 pitches to get through 4.1 innings, giving up four earned on eight hits, and took the loss. Griffin Jax covered 2.2 innings of one-hit relief on 45 pitches. Rafael Devers doubled in the sixth on a 93.2 mph fastball for Tampa Bay's final run. Six Giants left on base, one run scored, and Ramos's 424-foot out was the closest they came to changing it.
