Three hits, three runs, two of them home runs — that is the entire Philadelphia offense, and it was plenty. Kyle Schwarber's twenty-first of the year came on a 3-2 changeup in the first, a 106.8 mph line drive to right, and Brandon Marsh added a two-run shot in the seventh. The Padres collected five hits and never crossed home, leaving eight on base. Jesús Luzardo threw 104 pitches over six innings, walked two, and gave up nothing. Jhoan Duran needed seventeen pitches for the ninth and stranded the last San Diego runner.
