Yordan Alvarez hit a baseball 118.5 mph off the bat in the sixth inning and it traveled 14 feet — a groundout with Houston already trailing. Spencer Arrighetti gave the Astros six innings of two-hit, one-run ball on 73 pitches, and they scored once. Nick Fortes put Tampa Bay ahead with a solo shot in the sixth, Alvarez tied it with his 27th, and Junior Caminero untied it with his 25th in the seventh on an 82.4 mph slider. Fortes doubled in an insurance run in the eighth. Kevin Kelly needed seven pitches to get five outs and got the win. Houston left four on base and committed an error in a one-run loss that became two.
