Five Boston pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout. Freddy Peralta threw 92 pitches in 4.1 innings, walked five, and gave up the two-run homer to Andruw Monasterio that decided it. Eduardo Rivera started and allowed one hit in 3.2 innings. Four relievers followed, and none gave up a run. The Mets had three hits, left nine on base, and did not score. Masataka Yoshida's two-run homer in the eighth — his third of the year, on an 86.9 mph cutter — put it out of reach. Danny Coulombe walked three in two innings and did not allow a hit.
