Rengifo had not gone deep since his first of the season, and the pitch he caught with Jase Bowen on first cleared right field and decided a game that had changed hands three times. Heriberto Hernández's home run in the fifth traveled 423 feet at 110.8 mph, the hardest contact of the night, and it only tied the game Miami had led since the second. Manny Machado's single in the same inning put San Diego in front, at 110.0 mph off the bat. Adrian Morejon got four outs on 24 pitches for the win, and Mason Miller needed eleven to close it.
