Richie Palacios hit a 2-2 curveball into right field in the sixth and brought two runs home — the only hit that decided a game where Tampa's bullpen covered four innings without allowing an earned run. Josh Naylor hit two home runs for Seattle, one off a cutter and one off a sweeper, and neither came with a man on base. Steven Matz got the win with two clean innings, which is the kind of line that looks quiet until you notice the starter before him needed 99 pitches to get through five. Julio Rodríguez hit a single at 112.1 mph off the bat that traveled 171 feet and never scored. Bryan Baker needed nine pitches to close it.
