Rafael Flores Jr. hit two home runs and drove in six. His second and third of the year came in the eighth and ninth, and by the time the second one landed the game was already out of reach. Braxton Ashcraft made sure of that — 85 pitches over nine innings, three hits, one walk, ten strikeouts, one run. Javier Sanoja came out of the Miami bullpen and gave up seven hits and five earned in 1.1 innings. Jacob Gonzalez and Owen Caissie both homered in the ninth. Sixteen hits for Pittsburgh, three for Miami, and the complete game meant the Pirates did not need a single reliever.
