Sandy Alcantara threw 99 pitches before leaving with one out in the fifth — seven earned, four walks, one strikeout. Juan Soto turned a first-pitch sinker into a three-run homer at 108.2 mph to center, and Brett Baty followed an inning later, putting a 3-2 fastball 426 feet at 111.7 mph. Sean Manaea gave up four runs on five hits in five but walked no one and handed a lead to a bullpen that held it. Miami got two hits and a run off Kodai Senga in the ninth and still finished two runs short. In the sixth, Jared Serna lined a double to center, his first of the year, and came around to score.
