Strider went 5.1 innings, struck out four, and left leading 2-1. Tyler Kinley gave it back in the seventh on Marcelo Mayer's second home run of the year — an 88.4 mph slider. The bullpens held through the eighth and ninth. Tyler Samaniego came in for the tenth and Yastrzemski doubled to left on the first pitch, scoring Ha-Seong Kim. Samaniego faced one batter and took the loss. Didier Fuentes pitched the tenth — one inning, one strikeout — and got the win. Connelly Early started for Boston: five innings, two runs, six strikeouts. Drake Baldwin and Michael Harris II homered for Atlanta. Aroldis Chapman threw ten pitches, ten strikes, in the eighth. Raisel Iglesias kept it tied in the ninth.
