Yandy Díaz hit the first pitch he saw — a 91.9 mph fastball — into the left-field seats in the first inning. That was more offense than Tampa Bay would need. Ian Seymour came out of the bullpen and threw four innings, gave up one hit, struck out five, and the only run he allowed was Marcelo Mayer's third home run of the season, a 401-foot shot to right center on an 80.4 mph sweeper. Connelly Early took the loss: 4.2 innings, five hits, two earned runs, four walks, six strikeouts on 96 pitches. Díaz added a sacrifice fly in the eighth — 102.5 mph off the bat — to score Taylor Walls, and Bryan Baker retired the side on eleven strikes.
