Two solo home runs — Dominic Canzone's in the second and Nate Eaton's first of the year in the third — gave Logan Gilbert the only runs he needed. Gilbert struck out eight in six and a third and gave up one run, and Cole Young's RBI single in the fifth added insurance. Payton Tolle took the loss with three earned in six innings for Boston, and the Red Sox managed five hits. Andrés Muñoz threw fifteen pitches in the ninth and Boston went quietly.
