San Diego scored three in the tenth to go ahead, and Kyle Hart entered to hold a three-run lead. He gave up four hits in a third of an inning and took the loss. Fernando Tatis Jr. had singled earlier at 114.2 mph, the hardest ball of the night, but the Royals answered with four — Massey's grounder to second scoring Vinnie Pasquantino to tie it, and Isaac Collins's groundout bringing home Salvador Perez to end it. Kansas City stranded twelve in ten innings and won anyway.
