Spencer Miles gave Toronto 3.2 innings of one-hit relief after Braydon Fisher lasted just 1.1 innings, and for a while the plan worked — Toronto led 2-1 through five. Then Jeff Hoffman gave up three runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning and took the loss. Victor Mesa Jr. drove in the tying and go-ahead runs on two separate singles, and Griffin Jax's six innings of one-run ball made it stand. Alejandro Kirk's solo shot in the seventh was the only noise Toronto made after that.
