Gage Jump walked four and struck out seven over six shutout innings — 90 pitches, 53 strikes — and left with a 1-0 lead his bullpen expanded and then nearly lost. Brian Serven hit his first home run of the season in the seventh, a two-run shot on a 91.5 mph fastball that made it 3-0, and Lawrence Butler's RBI double in the eighth pushed it to 4-1. Connor Wong's two-run homer in the ninth cut it to 4-3, and Hogan Harris struck out three in 1.1 innings to finish it. Jake Bennett gave up three runs over 6.1 innings for Boston, and Jump walked four and won.
