Harper, Realmuto, and Turner each homered off Randy Vásquez — Turner's ball traveling 434 feet at 109.1 mph — and Alec Bohm's RBI single in the third made it 4-0. Machado's two-run homer in the fourth and Laureano's solo shot in the eighth cut the margin to one, but Aaron Nola's six innings of two-run ball and Jhoan Duran's clean ninth kept Philadelphia ahead. Bradgley Rodriguez threw 1.1 innings of no-hit relief behind Vásquez, and Wandy Peralta worked around two walks in his frame, but the Padres managed five hits all night.
